Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Home visits are only made at the discretion of the doctor, please do not ask for a home visit unless the patient is genuinely housebound. If you require a home visit, please telephone the surgery before 10:30 so that the doctor can plan his rounds for the day. You will be requested to give the receptionist some indication of the problem so that the visiting doctor can assess how urgent your request is.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or arrange a hospital attendance. We will not be able to visit you on the same day unless you call by 10:30, except in cases of real emergency.
