If you are requested to provide a sample of urine/faeces please bring your sample to be tested at the local hospital before 14:00 each working day. You will need to obtain the correct collection pot from Reception prior to providing the sample.

Currently the majority of appointments for blood tests are booked in the morning to meet the lunchtime hospital collection for samples. However, if this is inconvenient and you need to be seen later in the day, please speak to the receptionist who will advise if the samples we need to collect can be refrigerated overnight.

If you have had a sample sent to the laboratory for testing you can receive the results of your test if you telephone the Test Results Line on 335561 between 14:00 – 16:00, Monday-Friday, no earlier than 5 days after the test is done. We can only give results to the patient concerned, excepting patients under 16 years of age for whom results can be given to their parents/guardians. Please do not use this line for any other enquiry.
